WTN: Binomio Montepulciano d'Abruzzo '06...(short/boring)

Tried this on Sat:
1. Binomio Dd'OC: Montepulciano d'Abruzzo (15%; DallaTerra/Napa) Spoltore 2006: Very dark/near black color w/ no bricking; rather fumey/alcoholic very strong toasty/charred/Fr.oak rather grapey/boysenberry/chocolaty/overripe some LHZin-like huge fruit nose; soft/fat quite hot/fumey/alcoholic strong chocolaty/licorice/overripe/boysenberry/LHrvsty very strong toasty/charred/vanilla/Fr.oak hufe fruit slight earthy/dusty bit insecticide/perfumed very clean/modern flavor w/ ample hard/ripe tannins; very long soft/fat rather alcoholic/fumey very strong toasty/vanilla/Fr.oak intense grapey/chocolaty/boysenberry/licorice/LHrvsty/huge fruit finish w/ some hard/ripe/mouthfilling tannins; shows no signs of 11 yrs of age; a classic international overripe red that reminds a lot of the early Turley Zins made by HelenTurley; this is how PhillipeCambie would make Md'A if he could; not a bad wine and certainly clean & well-made but becomes very tiring to drink after the first few glasses; not a style I appreciate but I'm certain it would play in Monktown. $53.00 (KK)

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Inspired by EricAsimov's latest article on Md'A, which he described them as "lively and refreshing", I went out and bought the most expensive Md'A I could find.
This is made from the "Africa-Binomio" clone of the Md'A grape. Obviously made in a modern style. A fur call from "lively & refreshing".
