Domaine Guiberteau 2012 Saumur Rouge. $19.50. Relatively austere; plummy fruit almost sketched out of the picture by dark graphite. Solid concentration, balance and length, especially for the level; and appealing -- but also stern. I thought I'd tried one of this vintage already, but this was apparently the first of three bottles, so I can't tell whether this is vintage character or moodiness; but this isn't giving as much as I'd like right now, so I think I will let the other bottles sleep.
cheers, Patchen
