WTN: Porca de Murça Reserva Branco 2004

From the Douro. A blend of Boal Gouveio and Moscatel.

Spicy, clean and lemony nose.

Refreshing, clean, with a lovely tingle on the tongue, rich pear, a bit of zesty lemon, spicy and peppery. The lemon and its associated lemony-edge increases as the wine warms.

Tangy toward the end, with light citrus fruit bitterness.

A lovely and delicious wine.

Good QPR at $15.95 (Canadian).

They're making some really interesting whites in Portugal these days from some lovely varieties. A pity they are so hard to come by!
I don't drink wine because of religious reasons ... only for other reasons.

We appear to be rather lucky here in Ontario Otto, as the LCBO seems to like reasonably priced whites from Portugal. They are fairly easy to come by and, since they are usually made with grapes I am not familiar with, are a wine adventure.
