by TomHill » Tue Aug 15, 2017 10:57 am

Tried this last night w/ my tomatos & basil:
1. Bibich debit North Dalmatia (100% Debit grape; SS ferment; www.BlueDanubeWines.com; 13.0%) Skradin/Croatia
2016
: Light gold color w/ slight frothy bubbles that disapate; attractive stony/mineral/chalky slight herbal/floral/mango/grapefruit fragrant nose; bit soft light tangy/chalky/mineral/stony light floral/mango bit perfumed talc flavor; med.long orange/mango/floral mostly stony/mineral/chalky finish; an altogether pleasant white that reminds mostly of Friulano but w/ more stony/earthy character; fairly priced at $16.50 (BDW)

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. This was the first from my recent Bibich 6-pak from BlueDanube. Debit is a variety that is indigenous to Croatia, mostly found on the Dalmatian Coast. There is an Italian variety, BombinoBianco or Pagadebit, whose synonym is Debit, so-called because its large yield allowed the farmer to pay off his debts of the vnyd. Not known if they're the same or related variety.
