Most Shea Vineyard wines are consumed far too early, and this one is no exception. It’s luscious now, but cellaring would reward the drinker with an utterly profound, complex and multi-faceted pinot noir experience…no, I should say a Willamette Valley pinot noir experience, because the hallmarks are all there. Rich berry fruits---in this case bright red raspberries with heady cherry liqueur---mingle with dried flowers, cedar, anise, the zip of citrus acidity and some surprisingly ample tannins that would encourage cellaring. It is an altogether enticing, seductive pinot that will mature with grace and power.
