Susan & I tried these three whites over the weekend:
1. Zudugarai Dd'O: Getariako Txakolina (11%; www.TxakoliZudugarai.com) 2015: Med.light gold color w/ lots of tiny CO2 bubbles lining the glass; some pineapple/mango some stony/chalky/perfumed talc quite fragrant nose; clearly CO2 refreshed very tart/tangy somewhat chalky/stony/mineral slight metallic/steely light mango/lemony flavor; med.long slight effervessent very tart/tangy/metallic stony/mineral/chalky light mango/lemony/grapefruity finish; clearly CO2 refreshed but the underlying tangy acidity leaves the effervessence a mere annoyance; quite a nice Txakolina at a good price. $18.50 (KK)

2. ZacaMesa Z Blanc EstateVnyd/SantaYnezVlly (66% Rouss/28% GrenacheBlanc/6% Viog; www. ZacaMesa.com; 14.1%) LosOlivos 2014: Light gold color; strong honeysuckle/Rouss/honeyed some Mosel valve oil/gout de petrol/R-like light pencilly/oak quite fragrant lovely nose; bit soft light pencilly/oak very honeyed/honeysuckle/Rouss light R-like/Mosel valve oil slight stony very perfumey fairly rich/lush lovely flavor; very long/lingering slghtly soft rich/lush strong honeysuckle/Rouss/GB/honeyed light pencilly/oak very light stony/perfumed talc finish; a very lovely perfumed/balanced white Rhone blend at a great price. $21.00 (KK)

Bedrock CuveeKaratas SonomaCnty WW (14.5%; 55% AncientVine Semillon/MonteRossoVnyd + 45% SauvBlanc/KickRanch; Brl frmtation 55% new Fr.oak; 8 brls; www.BedrockWineCo.com) 2012: Med.dark gold color; beautiful/complex waxy/figgy/graham cracker bit smokey/oak some herbal/new mown hay complex nose; soft rich/lush ripw/waxy/figgy bit smokey/caramel/oak some herbal/new mown hay complex flavor; very long/lingering strong figgy/waxy/ripe/nutty smokey/caramel/oak light herbal/new mown hay slight tangy complex finish; showing a bit of old Kalin Semillon, a bit of old HunterVlly Semillon w/o the acidity and less oak; resembles a lot some old LouisMartini Semillons; starting to develop into a beautiful complex Semillon and will go another 10 yrs at least. $38.50
