Tried two more from my Jaffurs stash:
1. Jaffurs HankPitcher Viognier BienNacidoVnyd/SBC (14.5%; Hrvstd: Sept 26; 24.4 Brix; pH: 3.24; 48 cs) 2005: Med.dark gold color; strong perfumed peach/pear/Viog very slight nutty slight toasty/oak fresh lovely aromatic nose; soft slight tangy/metallic rather rich/lush strong peach/pear/Viog/honeyed very slight herbal/nutty slight toasty/oak fresh bit complex flavor; very long/lingering soft fresh/pear/peach/Viog bit 7Up/Sprite rich/lush very slight nutty light smokey/oak fresh complex finish; would like a bit more acidity but it skirts the DollyParton territory; no signs of oxidation whatsoever save for the very slight nutty character.

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. I was surprised how good the Syrah was. As good as it's gonna get. The basic Jaffurs SBC Syrah is, yr in & yr out, a no-brainer for me at a very reasonable price.
