Tried this last night at dinner:
1. Jaffurs Syrah Verna'sVnyd/SBC (15.0%) 2004: Dark color w/ slight bricking; very strong blackberry/Syrah/blueberry/very spicy slight peppery/smoked meats some toasty/smokey/oak complex classic mature SBC Syrah lovely nose; somewhat soft rather tangy/metallic some astringent/drying out light blackberry/Syrah/peppery rather smokey/toasty/oak bit complex flavor w/ light astringent/dried out tannins; med.long soft tangy/metallic little fruit slight Syrah/blackberry/peppery some toasty/smokey/oak complex finish w/ light astringent tannins; quite an interesting complex mature SBC Syrah nose but pretty dried out on the palate; tough to find much pleasure here.

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. By the next day, the wine had turned a murkey brown color and was totally shot on the palate.
