A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Lagrein is the grape commonly found in the AltoAdige, but its origins are in Trentino. Lagreiin = Teroldego X ??, and supposedly related to Syrah/PinotNoir/Deureza.
This Lagrein was fairly typical of the variety in the AltoAdige w/ a lot of soft plummy character and lots of loamy AltoAdige red character. Not a profound red, but just good drinking. I seldom get any Teroldego character in them, mostly that loamy/compost pile character.
