WTN: Wines with Mexican Steak dinner

2016 Domaine de la Chanteleuserie Bourgueil Rosé Blend
Yum. Good body and fruit. Nice CF character with a bow on it--more like what I expected the Baudry to be but wasn't.

2016 Château Ducasse Blanc Bordeaux Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend
Purchased because I have so liked this in other vintages, but this isn't a winner. Rather, it's dull, light bodied and dilute. PASS!

2005 Scholium Project Babylon Tenbrink Vineyards California Petite Sirah
I see I paid $42 for this where the CT community avg is $66.57. We were all robbed. 15.7% alcohol shows like 20--it's like someone poured some vodka in the bottle. GREAT nose, but undrinkable.

2009 Vinedos Malagon Grenache Equua Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico
Mature and just verging on necrotic--lovely developed nose, but some soy sauce-y with dried figs on the palate. I liked it more than anyone else present, but then I'm more used to drinking older wines.

2009 Oakville Terraces Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Grown
Much better than the bottle two months ago. Big bodied with a lot of sweet fruit on the finish but not sappy per se like the other. Will skip opening any others in favor of giving them time for more secondary development. Still, should never have bought 09s. What was I thinking.

2012 Soos Creek Ciel du Cheval Vineyard Red Mountain Red Bordeaux Blend
Bright and spicy in the house style. One taster swore VA present but I disagreed--there was nothing off or weird about the acidity, or any other odd flavors present except for what wasn't there (compared to earlier bottles) because at present this wine's just not fully awake. Hold.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

I just do not get the love for Scholium.

Me neither. It seems like a steep price to pay for some half-ass science experiment.
