Château Sociando-Mallet 1996 Haut-Médoc. Brisk red currant and cherry fruit dances over a broad base of tobacco and herbs. Lively and beautifully balanced, on the leading edge of maturity, but with lots of time still to go. Really delicious.

A lovely wine! Still 6 bottles left. :D I wondering whether to take the plunge on some bottles of 2006 at c.€30. Any experience, anyone?
