2016 Dirty and Rowdy Mourvedre Skinner Stoney Creek Vineyard - USA, California, Sierra Foothills, El Dorado County (12/30/2017)
I was prompted to open this based on a note from a person I trust, and I was not misled. Red fruit and spice (not wood spice) dominated the wine on opening, and it was on night two when the wine really blossomed, and developed greater depth, as well as herbal and floral accents. It was served rather cold, as the house was on the extra-cool side (just under 60), but the wine powered through.
