Tried these two Fri night as Susan's son's family was preparing to depart into the teeth of the storm at NYC/JFK:
1. OjaiVnyd Chard BienNacidoVnyd/SantaMariaVlly (14.0%) 2006: Med.gold color; light pencilly/oak rather melony/Chard/celery seed/spicy quite fragrant attractive nose; quite tart/angular bright/melony/Chard/celery seed some pencilly/oak bit lean some complex flavor; very long tart/brisk rather celery seed/Chard/melony bit spicy/nutmeg some pencilly/oak light nutty/tobaccoy bit complex finish; not a lot of development but still in fine shape, a bit on the lean side, but quite attractive.

2. OjaiVnyd Chard SpecialBttlg SolomonHillsVnyd/SantaMariaVlly (14%; 6 brls) 2006: Deep gold color; rather nutty/bit oxidized/tobaccoy some toasty/oak slight melony/Chard bit earthy somewhat tired nose; soft rather nutty/tobaccoy/bit oxidized/old Chard slight melony/Chard/earthy rather tired/oxidized flavor; med.long rather nutty/tobaccoy/bit oxidized slight melony/Chard finish; not totally shot and not the bitterness you usually find in an oxidized Chard but clearly on its last legs.

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. I was expecting a lot more of the SpecBttlg, but it is clearly going downhill ahead of its time.
