2004 Drappier Champagne Grande Sendrée - France, Champagne (1/13/2018)This was a sublime match with a very smoky, locally produced ham steak. The fruity and toasty elements played very well with the ham, and later, in its own, the wine showed impressive depth and a long finish. Lovely Champagne.

I always enjoy a sparkling wine with ham, usually go for one of Pato`s from Portugal. I also remember a sparkling Cab Franc years ago.
