Forlorn Hope "Nacre" Semillon 2012

Tried at their "new" Outlands tasting room in Downtown Napa, this was quite a WOW wine. No oak. Three years+ in bottle. I understand Matthew Rorick was going for Hunter Valley here. Savory, minerally, lemony. Amazingly slurpable white wine I really want to try this with oysters (Nacre = Mother of Pearl) Bravo!

2012 Baldacci "Elizabeth" Pinot Noir (Carneros)

Found this lovely orphan. Despite the Air Conditioning Disaster of 2017, this was in a lovely, changeable, complicated place! Started out with a touch of cranberry, but then it smoothed out, with the oak combining with the inherent sleekness of Pinot to create a lovely mouth feel. Finished with a savory, smoky note-but not overwhelming and actually very enjoyable. Another Bravo! wine!

The Baldaccis have apparently worked through their issues with the Napa County Planning bureaucracy and are making improvements to their property, including a new driveway and major construction at the winery/tasting room. I would like to see how it evolves!
