2012 Weingut Spreitzer Winkeler Jesuitengarten Riesling Kabinett halbtrocken - Germany, Rheingau (2/13/2018)
Somehow I lost track of these. Not sure how, as the bottles are rather distinctive, and they are racked at eye level, but no matter. Five plus years post vintage the wine is singing, and it remains an ideal Riesling for the table. The sweetness a barely perceptible, the fruitis still apparent, and the finish carries a rush of electricity. Citrus and minerals work together, and compliment a casual grilled chicken, but could easily work with fish or pork. The wine is versatile, and molds to the food.
