Steve brought this as a mystery wine a few weeks ago:
1. Holly'sHillVnyd PetiteSirah ElDorado (14.9%; www.HollysHill.com) Placerville 2009:
Black color; strong blackberry/blueberry/licorice/PS bit plummy some floral/perfumey/toilet bowl cleaner bit alcoholic nose; soft very rich/lush blackberry/blueberry/PS/plummy bit licorice some hot/alcoholic bit earthy/ElD mushroomy flavor w/ light smooth/ripe tannins; long plummy/blackberry/blueberry/PS /big fruit some ElD/earthy/mushroomy light floral/perfumy rather soft/lush finish w/ light ripe tannins; avoids the clunky/oafish side of PS but not a lot of complexity/development; rather smooth/rich/lush drinkable PS.
