We tried last night w/ Pat's fresh grape & blue cheese tart:
1. Ridge Calif Zin LateHrvst LyttonSpringsEstate (100% Zin; 16.0%; 13 brls; SaH: 36.0%; RS: 8.0%; 14 mo. in small oak cooperage; Drk: 2/94-2/04: PD) 1992: Med.color w/ some browning; strong boysenberry/blackberry/overripe Zin/licorice bit pruney/late hrvsty some fumey/alcoholic light vanilla/oak bit complex nose; quite sweet soft very ripe/late hrvsty raisened/pruney boysenberry/plummy/Smuckers jam bit alcoholic some vanilla/oak flavor w/ light ripe/smooth tannins; very long overripe/pruney/jammy bit alcoholic strong boysenberry/blackberry/Smuckers jammy light vanilla/oak rather raisened/pruney finish w/ light/smooth/ripe tannins; still loads of ripe Zin fruit but turning into a raisened/pruney/alcoholic mess.

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. In its youth, this was an absolutely delicious sweet Zin. But this long of age has not done much for this wine; the alcohol and pruney/raisened character have come to the forefront.
