WTN: 2008 Agharta Cabernet Sauvignon Farella

by David M. Bueker » Wed Mar 14, 2018 9:36 pm

2008 Agharta Wines Cabernet Sauvignon Farella - USA, California, Napa Valley, Coombsville (3/14/2018)
This was an interesting take on Napa Cabernet. It showed significant aromatic richness, and the palate entry was ripe and fleshy, but then it gained focus through the mid-palate. The finish was quite clean, with balanced tannins, and no hint of over extraction or prune over ripeness. It was an interesting take on Napa, keeping one foot in the modern camp, and the other with the classics. Drink now to whenever.

Thanks for the note, David. I lean more to Pax's Windgap lineup, but the Farella Vineyard in Coombsville produces some nice grapes. Farella realeases wine under his own label that I enjoy when in the mood for a plusher wine!
