WTN: Forlorn-Hope CheninBlanc '16....(short/boring)

by TomHill » Fri Mar 16, 2018 12:35 pm

My F-H shipment arrived a few days ago, so shared this last night w/ friends after my Tour of the Hapsburg Empire at Pig+Fig:
1. Forlorn-Hope Chenin Blanc RorickVnyd/CalaverasCnty (12.28%; 207 cs) Murphys 2016: Light yellow color; very strong stony/chalky/mineral/flinty very slight floral/CB very interesting nose; very tart/acid quite stony/mineral/chalky rather saline/savory slight earthy almost teeth-chattering flavor; very long stony/flinty/mineral/chalky saline/savory quite tart finish; a bracing/mineral-driven CB that avoids the candied/tutti-frutti character of most Calif CB yet doesn't seem lean or eviscerated; a very Loire-like CB thst shows more depth than most. $32.00

Really enjoy this wine, Tom. Have you tried his Semillon from Yountville? Amazing stuff!
