WTN: 2000 Chateau Lagrange

by David M. Bueker » Mon Mar 19, 2018 7:31 pm

2000 Château Lagrange (St. Julien) - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Julien (3/18/2018)
I hope this was not a representative bottle, as even after 4+ hours of air it showed very lean, to the point of being eviscerated. Not much enjoyment at all.

I've got a few, certainly weren't lean at release, hope bad bottle (or just extremely shut down).
I had a '00 Phelan Segur Sat that also showed lean. Not really a characteristic of 2000, so maybe just consequence of a shut down phase.

I sure hope so. I did not expect 2000 to be a vintage where extreme patience would be required.
