Steve brought this as a mystery wine last night:
1. OjaiVnyd Syrah MelvilleVnyd SantaRitaHills (14.5%) 2003: Near black color w/ scant bricking; very intense blackberry/Syrah/very spicy very strong cracked black pepper/cold-climate Syrah very smokey/oak/toasty quite Rhonish slight herbal/black olive/c-c very complex nose; quite tart strong smokey/charred/Fr.oak intense cracked black pepper/Rhonish very c-c/blackberry/Syrah black olive very spicy rather Rhonish flavor w/ modest bit tangy tannins; very long/lingering intense cracked black pepper/c-c/black olive very strong blackberry/spicy/Syrah fairly tart complex finish w/ light tangy tannins; a beautiful c-c/Rhonish Syrah; as good a mature Calif Syrah as you can find; probably not going to get better but should go anuther 4-8 yrs.

This wine is still available at $85/btl. That's a steal.
