Forlorn Hope Nacre-2012 and Beyond

by Brian K Miller » Mon Apr 02, 2018 11:31 am

At Outland on Saturday tried once again the fantastic savory 2012 Nacre Semillon from Yount Mill Road. This is such a delicious wine! We also had an opportunity to try the 2008. Earthier, saltier, and even more interesting. If and when I have extra $$$, might be fun to buy a vertical (they have back to 2006!)

With lamb Sunday, the Farella Syrah 2014. Farella is the richest and most "Napa" of the winemakers at Outland, but he does this style so well! big, rich Syrah fruit, but there is that delicious meatiness that compliments lamb so well. Great acidic core. Delicious wine for sure.

Two Chardonnays: the remnants of the Copain Du Brand (rich, yet balanced) and Donkey and Goat Perli (bright, touch of spritz, fresh, maybe a bit simple, but really complemented (believe it or not) the iceberg with blue cheese salad)
