2013 Liquid Farm Chardonnay Bien Bien Santa Maria Valley
Dinner wasn't quite ready so I just poured a tiny bit into a glass to test it, and almost cried. I smelled and tasted the kind of flinty secondary development I really only find in white Burgundies. With air it developed roasted hazelnuts, spice, ginger flowers and even a little white truffle. Going big on the points--this is one of the complex California chards I've ever had. Big a fan of LF I am, I wasn't prepared for this.
