The Anjou Rouge wasn't doing much for me, so went for a sure thing and Pobega'd:
1. Carlisle Syrah SierraMarVnyd/SantaLuciaHighlands (15.3%; 210 cs; 25% w-c; 28% new Fr.oak; Drink: 2020-2032; U/U) 2016: Very dark/near black color; very intense blackberry/Syrah/boysenberry slight herbal/grapefruity light toasty/Fr.oak/smokey slight alcoholic nose; fairly tart/tangy rich/lush/mouthfilling very strong blackberry/Syrah/spicy/boysenberry slight herbal/citric some toasty/smokey/Fr.oak quite structured lovely flavor w/ ample ripe/soft tannins; very long/lingering ripe/rich/lush very strong blackberry/Syrah/spicy slight herbal/thyme/grapefruity bit peppery some tangy/tart/citric light toasty/Fr.oak structured finish w/ ample ripe tannins; really delicious now but only going to get better. $38.00

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. I've always liked Mike's SLH Syrahs. They usually have a tangy grapefruitiness to them that makes them particularly interesting. This one is just one such.
This btl was particularly special because of all the little styrofoam triangles clinging to the surface of the btl. Alas, my janitorial staff was not around at night.
