Cracked thos one-of btl from my latest Carlisle shipment:
1. Carlisle Zin DryCreekVlly/SonomaCnty (15.0%; 85% OV Zin + 15% PS; 425 cs; 53% TeldeschiRanchZin/32% MountsRanch Zin/15% MountsRanch PS; U/U; Drk: 2019-2027) 2016: Med.color; strong bright/DCV raspberry Zin/spicy light toasty/oak slight dusty/OV quite pleasant nose; quite tart/tangy/bit lean bright/raspberry/Zin/some spicy light toasty/oak flavor w/ light rather crunchy/tangy tannins; med.long very tart/tangy/lean bright/zippy/raspberry/spicy/Zin light toasty/oak finish w/ light brisk/tangy tannins; very classic example of DryCreekVlly Zin w/ lots of raspberry fruit; pretty lean for a Carlisle and badly needs a few more yrs; some like the DryCreekVnyds Heritage Zin but not as round/smooth. $31.00

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. I was really struck by how tight/lean/hard this Zin was, atypical for a Carlisle. However, after being left out on the counter overnight, the next day it showed the classic Carlisle rich/lush character and had softened up considerably. Maybe a "breathing effect"?? Nawh...couldn't possibly be so.
Mike's Zin blends always represent outstanding values, and this was one such. Shoulda bought more.
