2013 Ramey Syrah Rodgers Creek Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (4/22/2018)
Two small glasses served about two hours apart demonstrated the need to give this wine some air or cellar time. Initially it was quite linear, with blackberry fruit, smoky and meaty elements, all framed by bright acidity. The second glass showed a broader structure, and the smoky notes fanned out on the finish, heading toward that Syrah holy grail of bacon fat. The tannins clamped down a bit on the minerally finish, showing sufficient structure for mid-term aging to allow the flavors to further develop in bottle.

I would wait 4 or 5 years before opening another bottle. There is lots of promise here.
