by TomHill » Mon Apr 30, 2018 11:54 am

Tried these two whites this weekend:
1. Cesconi ManzoniBianco IGT: Vigneti delle Dolomiti (13%; www.Cesconi.It/eng_azienda.php) Pressano 2013: Light gold color; quite fragrant pineapple/spicy/R-like bit stony/mineral/saline lovely perfumed nose; rather tart/tangy slight steely/metallic bracing/brisk pineapple/R-like/slight honeyed bit stony/saline flavor; very long rather tart/tangy/brisk some pineapple/mango/R-like bit saline/savory lovely finish; reminds some of Ligurian Pigato; quite an attractive lovely whate at a very good price. $21.00 (AV)
____________
2. Jean-Luc Colombo LaRedonne AC: Cotes du Rhone (70% Viog/30% Rouss; 13.5%; www.VinsColombo.Fr) Cornas 2016: Med.light yellow color; quite fragrant Viog/pear/floral/carnations/spicy light honeysuckle/Rouss slight earthy quite attractive/perfumed nose; rather soft/fat/rich/lush fairly strong pear/Viog/floral/honeysuckle/Rouss slight earthy flavor; very long rich/lush/fat some pear/Viog/floral light Rouss finish; quite an attractive nose but would like a bit more impact on the palate; certainly not a Jr.Condrieu but an altogether pleasant CdRBlanc, but just that; quite fairly priced at $20.00 (AV)

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. ManzoniBianco: This is a cross developed in the '30's by Luigi Manzoni at Conegliano. It is Riesling Renano X PinotBianco. ElisabettaFordori makes one that's outstanding. This Cesconi is close.
