WTN: Confuron

Domaine Jean-Jacques Confuron 2015 Nuits-St.-Georges "Fleurières." Reductive aromas blow off pretty quickly. Taut, bright, ripe raspberry fruit, turning darker and gaining both complexity and weight in the mouth. Long finish with a pop of hard tannin. Really engaging wine. This was part of a Caveau Selections sampler, so my only bottle, and for some reason I had it pegged as early-drinking; but if I had more I'd hold for 5 years. I think this is maybe the second Confuron I've had and I've liked them both quite a bit.

I've heard good things about recent Confuron. In 90s they tended to be overoaked. I had some '02 Chambolles that were offered as replacements for something PC didn't get in (my first warning signs there), didn't taste of Burgundy or PN much less Chambolle.

This had none of that. Don’t know the elevage but there was barely any explicitly perceptible wood (to my palate), seemed quite transparent.
cheers, Patchen
