2006 Verget Chablis 1er Cru "Montee des Tonnerres." Old gold color. Viscosity. Exhibits minerality but falls short of flintiness.

2008 Wild Horse Pinot Noir Cheval Sauvage, Santa Maria Valley, CA. 14.5% abv. Darkly colored and opaque. This gives a medley of contrary impressions--cherry fruit (dark cherries), high acid, something subtly smoky or earthy and tart pomegranate. The fairly high alcohol percentage is noticeable.
