WTN Amiot-Servelle Chambolle

by Patchen Markell » Mon May 28, 2018 10:42 am

Domaine Amiot-Servelle 2013 Chambolle-Musigny. Intense, ripe, liquor-like cherry and raspberry fruit with a floral overlay, a little vanilla. Aromatic from the get-go, but didn't seem to have much structure or finish at first, so it came across as front-loaded and slightly confected. With air, it grew a bit of a spine and started to show chalky tannins on the back end, as well as as a little more earth. Not bad, but needs more time to come together.

Limited data, but the ‘13s generally seem out of sorts now.

Well, you might be right: today's our 3rd 95-degree day in a row, so it sure does feel like August...
