A couple weeks ago, while up at Rice Lake Ontario fishing, I stopped at a LCBO store to resupply more adult beverages. I was very underwhelmed. Other than Ontario white wines, all other wine regions were poorly represented. This was in Bewdley which may not represent the selection in bigger cities. I did buy some rather generic Cal. red wine and a Baco Noir ( not a fan) but the real winners were the Ontario Rieslings. Tonight we had a Reif Estate 2016 Riesling from the Niagra Penninsula with chicken pesto and what a wonderful match. The Riesling was full of peach flavors with a touch of citrus in the background and crisp acidity of the type I love (not tart but demanding another sip). abv of %12. The fishing for walleye was excellent btw.
