WTN: My Grüner Veltliner has a last name, it's m-a-y-e-r

1997 Weingut Willi Bründlmayer Grüner Veltliner Alte Reben - Austria, Niederösterreich, Kamptal (6/14/2018)
Fully mature, and in all its glory, this shows broad orange fruit tones and still a fresh edge with some of the cress/lime/pea shoot elements that make Grüner Veltliner so distinctive. On the palate it's a burst of umami, as earth/mushroom/forest floor elements join in with the lingering fruit. The finish is essentially endless, and it was a stellar partner to the mushroom & pea risotto.

Sounds like a great wine, but I came to applaud the title.
