WTN: Excellent Gewurztraminer; excellent price

by Jim Grow » Fri Jul 13, 2018 4:21 pm

A few nites ago we had Chicken with Cucumber (Chinese Cooking by Nim Chee Lee, page 110) with 2013 Cantina Terlano Gewurztraminer and what a fabulous match it was. The full-bodied spicey flavors (little rose petal thank you) and perfect acidity of the wine held up nicely to the spicey ginger/garlic/sesame oil/chili oil base of the Chinese dish we love so much. This was my last bottle of Gewurztraminer from any of the fine producers in Alto Adige so I must remedy that situation. ABV of 14.5% but not the least bit "hot". bottle contained some crystals. Oh, I almost forgot, price of about $22 at Party Source in Bellevue Ky.

I just checked and actual cost was $ 20.00. Wish I could buy this locally, I'd get another case.

Jim-
I found the 2015 Cantina Terlano Gewurz at Empire Wines in Albany for $15.95. If I got it right, they'll ship a case to Ohio for free.
