Tried these two over the weekend:
1. Cantina Tollo IGP: Pecorino Terre di Chieti (13%; Enotec Imports/Denver) Tollo/Chieti/Abruzzo 2015: Dark gold color; very tiny bubbles that cling to the side of the glass/dissolved CO2; fairly fragrant floral/dandelions/carnations/zennias/pungent light earthy nose; fairly rich/lush/slightly coarse light floral/dandelions/zennias/pungent slight pineapple bit soft pleasant enough flavor; med.short soft some rich/lush lightly floral/dandelions/zennias/pungent finish; a pleasant enough bit coarse white but not very distinctive and somewhat quotidian; no sense of CO2 on the palate. $23.00 (KK)

Kruger Rumpf Scheurebe Spatlese Pradikatswein (9%; A.P.Nr. 7 702 089 33 17; www.SkurnikWines.com) Munster-Sarmsheim/Nahe 2016: Light gold color; very tiny bubbles that agglomerate on the side of the glass; very strong ripe mango/pineapple slight pungent/Scheurebe bit herbal/almost resiny/rosemary quite interesting nose; slight spritz up front/dissolved CO2 off-dry (2%?) some pungent/herbal/rosemary/Scheurebe fairly tart ripe mango/pineapple flavor; very long pungent/herbal/rosemary/resiny/Scheurebe ripe/mango/pineapple off-dry tart/brisk finish; quite an attractive example of Scheurebe at a good price. $22.50 (KK)

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Pecorino: An indigenous variety, probably in the Marche, that is enjoying renewed interest, particularly in the Marche where the best examples originate. DNA does not identify any known parentage. This Pecorino was one of the less thrilling ones I've tried.
