Tried this last night:
1. Novy Viognier RRV (14.1%; www.NovyFamilyWines.com) 2008: Med.gold color; very strong pungent/Mosel valve oil/gout de petrol light peach/Viog slight smokey quite atypical very complex nose; bit soft/rich/lush slight tangy/metallic very strong pungent/Mosel valve oil/gout de petrol light ripe peach/Viog slight smokey/oak quite complex flavor; very long/lingering rather pungent/gout de petrol light smokey bit ripe peach/Viog slight metallic/tangy rather complex finish; not identifiable as Viog but a beautiful mature complex white; some like an old Nahe R, a bit like some old Condrieus.

And a wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Whatta surprise this wine was. Adam's Viogs have tended to be on the fat/porky side, so I was certain this had not aged well. Not only had it aged well, but it was terrific. Not at all like Viog, but absolutely delicious in its own right. So much for the myth that Viogs don't age.
