WTN: Karl Lingenfelder "Bird Label" Riesling 2004

by Bruce Hayes » Tue Jan 30, 2007 9:21 pm

Opened this for a dinner guest who, when asked if he liked German Riesling, made a face and said they were all quite sweet. I assumed he had only been exposed to some of the highly popular commercial dreck that pretends to be German Riesling.

He loved this.

Spicy, peppery, grapefruit on the nose.

Very rich and fleshy lime and ruby grapefruit, zingy acidity, peppery. Very clean, very zingy and very delicious.

A long, mouthwatering finish.

Screwcap closure.

Good value at $13.95 (Canadian).

This sounds good, but I have to admit, I kinda like the sweetish rieslings too.
Yes, and how many deaths will it take 'til he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind.
