And a few other things.
2015 Azienda Agricola Gradis'Ciutta Collio Pinot Grigio
Very competent PG with above average body and finish. Pear notes with a dash of limon (that citrus you find in South America) and pineapple.
2015 Quinta do Pinto Vinhas do Lasso Vinho Regional Lisboa White Blend
Complex wine from indigenous Portugese varieties. Engaging floral nose with light citrus and a creamy texture. Great QPR.
2016 Domaine de Bernier Chardonnay Val de Loire
Crisp and fresh with Chablis-like minerality.
2016 Massolino Barbera d'Alba
Ordered the '15 at a restaurant, received the '16 instead. When I called the owner/somm (who used to be an importer herself) over to query it, she apologized but added "The '16's a better vintage," to which I retorted ("In a year I'm sure I'll agree with you, but I don't today." Angular and disjointed, it's just not ready to drink yet.
2014 Borgo Scopeto (Tenuta Caparzo) Chianti Classico Chianti Classico DOCG Sangiovese Blend, Sangiovese
This replaced the above wine. Full-bodied with nicely developed flavors for current drinking: plums, dried cherries and spice.
2016 Tenuta Guado al Tasso (Antinori) Vermentino Bolgheri
Taut, with great acidity and minerality. Should age like the fantastic '11 did.
