2003 Renideo Salice Salentino DOC La Corte Puglia Italy. $10 a glass at Endless Vines. 13.5% alcohol. Deep red color, deep hue, lovely fruity and spicy aroma and taste, medium mouth feel, long complex finish. Very satisfying wine from an old favorite. 4*.
Notes: Winebow Notes: La Corte's Salice Salentino is a blend of 80-85% Negroamaro and 15-20% Malvasia Nera. Fermentation is longer and more traditional, lasting 14-15 days. The wine is then aged in a combination of stainless steel tanks and large oak foudres for 18 months. A dark brick red in color, the nose presents an array of aromas from figs to earth and tobacco.
