2016 Sandlands Mataro - USA, California, San Francisco Bay, Contra Costa County (9/13/2018)
Wonderful bottle that had fresh, dark berry fruit, a little bit of brambly, brushy, herbal, dusty going on as well, and a very easy to drink style. In the 13% alcohol range, this also, with its good balance, had no issue pairing with some moderately (or more) spicy Chinese dishes. I am very happy to have several more.

Thank you for sharing your notes, I have a few of these I haven't tried yet and been curious if it was time to pop one open. Sounds like it's worth checking in on them

A winery I've never heard of before. New?

Relatively. It's Tegan Passalacqua's pet project. Apparently he's not busy enough making Turley. ;)

Completely different style of wine.
