2011 Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barbaresco (9/18/2018)
Early days of pleasurable drinking for this wine from a warm vintage. It shows a softer, ripe red fruit base, and is just beginning to add in the rose and earth elements to the aromatic perfume. There is good depth to the fruit on the palate, and more than a little bit of tannin on the back end, so it's still a very good Barbaresco. I think the acid level is a little lower than usual, but that just makes it more approachable at this early stage. Drink now and for the next several years while the more classic vintages soften up.
