WTN: LimerickLane Zin Estate '15...(short/boring)

by TomHill » Tue Sep 25, 2018 11:09 am

Tried this last night:
1. LimerickLane Zin RRV/SonomaCnty (EG; 14.8%; www.LimerickLaneWines.com) 2015: Dark color; strong blackberry/boysenberry/Zin/very spicy/bit peppery some dusty/OV some toasty/pencilly/oak quite fragrant classic RRV Zin nose; quite tart/tangy intense blackberry/boysenberry/very spicy some dusty/OV some toasty/pencilly/oak slight earthy lovely flavor w/ modest tangy tannins; very long very strong RRV Zin/spicy/blackberry/boysenberry fairly tart/tangy some dusty/OV some pencilly/toasty/oak bit complex finish w/ light brisk/tangy tannins; not the intensity of the RockyKnoll or 1910 Zins but probably 70% as good; shows classic LimerickLane tangy acidity; will benefit from 2-5 yrs of age; a pretty seamless LL Zin from start to finish. $42.00

A wee BloodyPost:
1. This is their basic Estate Zin. The Bilbro's first release was the 2011 vintage, after they had purchased the LimerickLaneVnyd. Jake didn't think they had really dialed in the farming of the vnyd until about this 2015 vintage. One of the things that I really like about the LL Zins is, because of their low yields, they always have a pretty brisk acidity to them, despite their alcohol levels.
