2011 Dönnhoff Riesling - Germany, Nahe (10/10/2018)
From a bottle I moved into insanely cold professional storage on release, this was youthful to the point of immortality. I would not say it hadn't budged, but if someone had told me it was a current vintage, I would not have questioned it. That being said, it was delicious, integrated, just above off-dry, and showing plenty of palate freshness despite being from a lower acid vintage. Citrus fruit glides on a gossamer latticework, carried by icy cold water over stones smoothed by the passage of time. Drink now through forever.
