2017 Markus Ruch Klettgau Pinot Noir (12.5% alc., from Schaffhausen / Northern Switzerland)
Markus Ruch's base Pinot Noir is a natural wine (with minimal levels of sulfur) made from grapes from various vineyards in Klettgau which are characterized by calcareous clay and gravel soils.
Bright red with bluish reflections. Shy on the nose revealing minerality and flowers. Expressing the purity of a cold morning in the mountains. It unleashes all its energy on the palate: delicate notes of sweet raspberries and plums amplified by a vibrant acidity and harmonious tannins. It represents the definition of Pinot Noir juiciness. Very good length with powerful aftertaste. Seamless in every sense. A stunning light-weighted beauty. Congratulations to Markus Ruch! My subjective rating: 93-94/100.
