Consumed first of the month. Note from CellarTracker. 14.5% abv. From the label: "dream vintage" "old vines" "to develop this Shiraz with wonderful structure" most vines over 45 years of age American and French oak puncheons Selected for the Premium Australian Wine Collection. Label indicates this wine might age until 2015 or so, but it is taking things in stride in 2018 with hints of secondary development. The color is deep and dense purple. The nose suggests plum and chocolate. Viscous. On the palate I perceive ripe dark berries along with the plum and chocolate flavors. Mild tannins on the finish. I enjoyed this with broiled strip steak and baked potato. It would also pair with lamb or beef brisket.
