WTN: It is an ancient Ultramariner

2013 Ultramarine Blanc de Blancs Heintz Vineyard Sonoma Coast - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (12/17/2018)
Up front notice, this is the best Ultramarine we have ever had. It sets a whole new level for the wines. Green apple, lemon, pineapple, bread dough, it’s all there. The wine does not convey sweetness, but rather the fruit carries all the way throug he mid-palate and finish. The texture is both soft and bracing at the same time. The mousse is almost caressing, but there is a brisk acid kick on the finish. It earned the coveted wife comment of “oh my!” I let my last pour settle down in the glass for a while, and it became clear that this is world class Chardonnay that has the added bonus of bubbles.

Amazing wine!

This reminds me that I haven't written up my notes from last week's Champagne extravaganza. (And yes, there was an Ultramarine.)
