TN: Sparkling Alvarinho.

Time to catch up on some past festive notes despite at the time recovering from a bad cold virus.

TN: 2016 Quinta de Soalheiro Espumante Alvarinho, Minho Vinho Verde.

12.5% alc, agent greed forced up the prices of all Soalheiro about a year ago. This was I think $38 Cdn and I cellared for a year or so. Served alongside some tapas which were unmemorable and from the COOP freezer.
Yellow citrus color with fine small bubbles. Not too yeasty, nose had citrus peel with a minerally feel. Good balance between the acidity and alcohol, more citrus and hints of residual sugar. Heard comments of "pineapple, peach and some apricot". Not tasted under good conditions due to my cold coming on. Pity.
Generally, this wine was what I expected but oh the price.
