2011 Marie et Pierre Bénetière Côte-Rôtie Cordeloux - France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Côte-Rôtie (1/12/2019)
Still early days for this, and it was also served at a rather cold room temperature. That being said, it was still classic Côte Rôtie, with lots of bacon aromas to go along with rare beef and warm herbal tones. I’m not sure it really shows any kind of fruit, but it has excellent depth on the palate. Focusing on it a little more, and it’s more like a tart cherry fruit, but it’s a support to the savory elements of the wine.
