Some other stuff we drank last week:

2011 Azienda Agricola Ronchi di Giancarlo Rocca Barbaresco Nebbiolo
This wine has turned a corner; it's putting on weight and showing some good bottle development and better mouthfeel. Still on it's way up--only two left, so I'll plan on not opening another until 2021.

2015 Guardian Cellars The Informant Wahluke Slope Syrah Blend, Syrah
Not quite lip-stinging, but the alcohol here is prominent as is the case with so many Guardian wines. Modern, simplistic syrah flavors that seem to lack a point of view--it's neither the pretty/floral type nor the meaty funky type.

NV Kiona Cyclops III Red Mountain Red Blend
Options1/21/2019 - I LIKE THIS WINE: NR (Edit)
A fairly nondescript GSM. Just okay.

2010 Whitehall Lane Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Napa Valley
Black cherry, tobacco, chocolate, pencil shavings--classic Napa fruit in leathery aged splendor.

2009 Force Majeure Collaboration Series I Ciel du Cheval Vineyard Red Mountain Red Bordeaux Blend
A brawny, inelegant wine. At ten years old, heavy on the palate with more chocolate than fruit and a hot finish. Some people in this state don't deal well with hot vintages.

2014 Bedrock Wine Co. Zinfandel Old Vine California
Restaurant purchase (in which all the bottles are stored upright and at room temp). Sweet and direct, tasty but lacked complexity.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
