We were celebrating tonite my wife's great lab results of a breast biopsy coming back benign ( very small cluster of mini-particles) so I opened a 2013 Napa Lieff Cabernet Sauvignon with spaghetti. My next-to-last bottle and as always it was fabulous. Located off the Auberge Road in Rutherford, this is probably my favorite Napa Cabernet and this one did not disappoint. Lots of black fruit , more berry than cassis, some spiceness but also some black olive and a bit of that dustiness that Rutherford is so famous for. Not quite at peak but very enjoyable now. Five to eight years will do marvelous things here. 15.2% abv but not hot at all great nose also!! wish I had a couple cases of this wine.
